Jakarta, April 10, 2025 โ€“ The BUMN Foundation held a meeting with the Keluarga Kita organization, as part of a collaborative effort to improve the quality of child care in Indonesia through the program Ruang Tumbuh. This meeting aims to explore potential partnerships and further explore the program. Embrace (Our Family Volunteers) as a community-based family education initiative.

Program Embrace is a public-based family education initiative that encourages active participation of parents as agents of change. Through a selection and training process, volunteers are equipped with reflective parenting knowledge and skills, positive discipline, and effective child learning assistance strategiesโ€”aiming to shape a happy and competent generation of Indonesians.

In the discussion, Our Family said that the training in the program Embrace designed for primary caregivers (fathers and mothers) with a community-based approach. Training is conducted in 9 sessions of 1โ€“2 hours each, facilitated by volunteers. Embrace trained, and includes 20 participants per group. Training materials include basic principles of parenting, reflective parent-child relationships, and positive discipline. Interactive tools such as short films, worksheets, and games are used to strengthen participants' understanding.

This synergy plan also considers the integration of intervention principles from each collaborator that will be aligned during onboarding. In addition, there is potential for the development of an adolescent module if an active adolescent posyandu is found at the intervention location, even though it is not part of the main program indicators.

Sustainability is a key focus of this collaboration. One long-term strategy is to encourage training participants to take advanced facilitator training, so they can become volunteers. Embrace in their respective communities.

Through this collaboration, the BUMN Foundation hopes to strengthen the holistic approach to childcare at the community level, as well as support the transformation of Posyandu into more inclusive and impactful growth and care centers.
