Jakarta, October 25, 2024 – The event “The Brains Hub #1: There is Science Behind Love” was held lively at Everest Cafe, Bellagio Boutique Mall, Mega Kuningan, Jakarta. Carrying an interesting theme, this event presented Riza Putranto, PhD, a molecular biologist and science communicator, to explore how the phenomenon of falling in love can be explained scientifically. This event invited participants to understand the reactions of the body and mind when falling in love in a relaxed and interactive atmosphere.

“When you fall in love, your brain is filled with dopamine, serotonin, phenylethylamine, and adrenaline. Dopamine makes you miss your partner often. Serotonin makes it difficult for you to concentrate, easy to daydream. Phenylethylamine makes you imagine your partner. Adrenaline makes it difficult for you to sleep,” said Riza Putranto, PhD, Molecular Biologist & Science Communicator.

The presence of the BUMN Foundation at this event shows its commitment to supporting activities that focus on scientific education, especially those related to mental well-being and social relations. As an organization active in the fields of health and the environment, the BUMN Foundation believes that a deeper understanding of science can help people become more aware of the importance of mental health.

The presence of participants shows support for relaxed and useful science literacy, opens up space for inspiring discussions, and brings people closer to science in a light and easy-to-understand way.

"Events like this are a valuable opportunity to invite the public to understand that science is not just about theory, but also has a real impact on our mental well-being and daily social relationships. By understanding the scientific process behind emotions like falling in love, we can be wiser in knowing ourselves and the people around us," said Priscilla as Media & Communication of the BUMN Foundation.

By attending this event, the BUMN Foundation affirms its commitment to continue collaborating in activities that seek to expand knowledge and raise public awareness of the importance of mental health and science in everyday life. This participation is expected to be the first step for more collaboration in developing scientific literacy and mental well-being in Indonesia.
