The Real Impact of the Nation's Best Minds: Driving Social Innovation for Indonesia

Jakarta, January 30, 2025 – The BUMN Foundation has released Impact Report that reveals the profound impact of the Pikiran Terbaik Negeri (PTN) program, an initiative that is a catalyst for social change in Indonesia. This report is not just a collection of numbers, but a reflection of how PTN has fostered social innovation, strengthened social entrepreneurs, and created an ecosystem that drives sustainable change across sectors.

As a driver of social innovation, the BUMN Foundation not only provides financial support, but also builds the foundation of an ecosystem that allows sustainable solutions to grow and develop. From more than 1,000 applications received, 20 of the best social entrepreneurs were selected to receive intensive mentoring and funding totaling more than IDR 3 billion to realize real impacts for society.

The program has reached a final beneficiary population of 28,268 individuals across strategic sectors, including 293 farmers, 24 fishermen, 112 women, 160 children, 25,989 students, 784 teachers, 187 waste collectors, and 679 factory workers. Of these, 13 social entrepreneurs contributed to capacity building for beneficiaries, while six others played a role in opening up new market access for the communities they helped. In addition, technological innovation and policy advocacy are key pillars in strengthening the program’s impact.

As part of a series of PTN activities, participants have successfully participated in various events such as bootcamps, mentoring, and interactions with strategic stakeholders to strengthen the sustainability of their initiatives. The peak of the Grand Final Pitching event held on August 25, 2024, was an important momentum for 20 selected social entrepreneurs to present their innovations. From the judging results, the three best social entrepreneurs, namely Gede Jamur, BIKI, and eHealth, won awards for their innovative solutions. Through close collaboration with various stakeholders, PTN continues to ensure that its impact not only lasts in the short term, but also develops into a movement that encourages the birth of sustainable social innovation in Indonesia.
