Unraveling Food Loss & Food Waste Challenges Through Collaboration: BUMN Foundation at P4G Stakeholders & Ecosystem Meeting 2025

Jakarta, June 19, 2025 — Yayasan BUMN plays an active role in strengthening cross-sector collaboration to support the transition to green growth and the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This commitment is demonstrated through participation Yayasan BUMN in P4G Stakeholders & Ecosystem Meeting 2025, a forum that brings together government, business, philanthropy and social entrepreneurs to encourage innovative solutions to sustainable development challenges. Organized by P4G (Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals) and supported by the Ministry of PPN/Bappenas, this forum took place at The Westin Jakarta.
In this event, P4G grantees introduced various environmental solution innovations, ranging from food waste reduction, climate-smart agriculture, to renewable energy. Each forum participant was given the opportunity to provide feedback and explore collaboration opportunities directly with the innovators.
Roundtable Discussion, becoming an interactive collaboration space that discusses three main issues: Food Loss and Waste, Climate Smart Agriculture, And Renewable Energy. BUMN Foundation joins in discussion Food Loss and Waste together with a number of strategic partners, including the National Food Agency, Environmental Fund Management Agency (BPDLH), Food Cycle, Bappenas (Maritime Affairs and Fisheries), Indonesia Business Council for Sustainable Development (IBCSD), Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), and BIKI, a social enterprise alumni of the program Pikiran Terbaik Negeri. In the forum, Yayasan BUMN play an active role in providing views and input related to the issues discussed.
Issue food loss and food waste not just a matter of food security, but also has a direct impact on environmental sustainability, social welfare, and economic growth. Discussion at the table Yayasan BUMN highlights several crucial challenges, ranging from the gap between regulations and practices in the field, the absence of national data integration, to opportunities for collaboration in supporting the digitalization of the food system. On the other hand, these challenges also pave the way for the emergence of innovative solutions, ranging from strengthening policies, utilizing technology, to exchanging knowledge between actors in various sectors.
The presence of social entrepreneurs such as BIKI, which was born from the program Pikiran Terbaik Negeri, is proof that real solutions can grow from the innovation of the nation's children. All parties have a role, from the government, business actors, philanthropy, to the community, to move together to create change. Through their participation in this forum, Yayasan BUMN affirms its commitment to be a bridge between field innovators, policy makers, and business actors. By building cross-sector collaboration, Yayasan BUMN believe that the challenge food loss and food waste can be turned into a great opportunity for Indonesia. Now is the time for us to strengthen our steps together. With the right collaboration, Indonesia can build a resilient, efficient, and sustainable food system, not only for today, but also for the future of the next generation.
