Jakarta, November 14, 2024 – The BUMN Foundation, together with the Ministry of Health, has distributed emergency aid to communities affected by the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki in East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. This aid is a form of rapid response to the natural disaster that has caused damage and health threats to residents around the affected area.
The BUMN Foundation, represented by Agus Santoso as Chief of Finance & Administration, officially handed over aid to the Health Crisis Center of the Ministry of Health. In this effort, the Ministry of Health plays an important role in distributing aid by ensuring that the goods arrive at disaster-affected locations on time. The aid distributed consisted of health equipment and other necessities, including medical masks, blankets, mattresses, and mosquito nets. This aid is expected to help the community maintain their health in the midst of an emergency situation and protect them from the impact of volcanic ash.
In a social media post on Instagram, President Prabowo Subianto conveyed his direction to ensure that aid distribution runs smoothly, on time, and on target. "I want to get detailed updates on the disaster and ensure that all aid can be provided on time and on target as quickly as possible," said Prabowo, who wants the distribution of aid to be accelerated for affected communities.
The synergy between the BUMN Foundation, the Ministry of Health, the BUMN Disaster Task Force, and other government institutions demonstrates a shared commitment in dealing with this disaster. With good collaboration and coordination and support from various parties, it is hoped that aid can immediately reach the affected communities, provide them with the support they need in this difficult situation, and help them get back on their feet. The speed and accuracy in distributing this aid reflects a joint effort to protect the community and ensure their safety and health are maintained during the disaster emergency.
